“Once upon a time there lived a man who was travelling the world searching for his one and only love. Many roads, many cities, but it wasn’t until he reached a small island that he found his true soul mate in nobody else, but a tropical princess…” This could be a beginning of a fairytale story that was inspiring me along the way of planning this styling shoot.
When the idea was only born, “A Touch of Fashion” Workshop was supposed to be a 1-day gathering, teaching photographers some of my professional secrets with a beautifully styled wedding scene and a gorgeous couple. However, as the ideas grew, our inspiration got so strong we couldn’t help but extend it into 2 different days united by 1 common story.
The first day was inspired by local Thai elements and a legendary story of Pocahontas.
With a great support of our partners from Renaissance Resort & SPA Phuket, we created a whimsical dreamy scene in one of the top hotels here in Phuket. Incorporating mainly local flowers, but with the right touch of sophistication (our bride-to-be was a princess, after all!), we managed to elevate the overall idea. Gold, as a symbol of luck, prosperity and happiness in Thailand, set the tone of this day, and was especially remarkable on the bridal dress, — a creation of a young Thai talent, Glam Gold Label.
Bright and juicy colors made the scene stand out even more, as our couple was flirting and getting in the jungles.
When the sun went down and it was time to sit down for a festive dinner, we made sure that it is given the utmost attention to. We styled the dining are with great attention to details, as food is an extremely important element of Thai culture and hospitality. We combined wood and hand-made ceramics, exotic outstanding flower shapes, all under a dreamy canvas of fairy-lights. Food stations created by Renaissance team looked incredible, but the fruit corner was star of the day.
