Photography Portrait for woman’s magazine FEMINA

I am proud to have shoot these portraits for FEMINA Denmark. All about how to LIVE a great and meaningful life with a chronic disease and shooting these pictures of Bernhard really touched me deeply. This is not a man I a wheelchair that feels sorry for himself. Neither are they the perfect couple that never fight or don’t have problems besides the obvious. No him and his wife Rikke were so real, honest and just there that it was a huge inspiration to capture their love story.

Read the whole article in Femina here: THE ARTICLE – it’s in Danish but translate it its worth the read.

Truly a power story about love, sex and not being discouraged by a chronic illness and keep going. Bernhard has written a book about this called Tro, Håb og Kærlighed I sklerosens tegn.

As we are rolling/walking down to the place in Copenhagen to take the pictures I notice how Rikke isn’t trying to fix and help Bernhard and he is managing himself. I found it fascinating! They didn’t themselves see any limitations to a life with a partner in a wheelchair. She isn’t a caretaker and he isn’t less for sitting down in a wheelchair. They are partners and a power couple beyond what I have ever seen and their love for each other was so inspiring..

I hope you will enjoy the article and the portrait images I shoot for the women’s magazine FEMINA. Enjoy!

I also recommend seeing all the images and reading the article here.
